Lung Van (Muong Bi), about 40 km from the city center Peace, famous for its spectacular natural scenery and unique culture of the Muong.
Situated at an altitude of 1,200m over sea level, Lung Yun in Tan Lac looks like a fairyland between white clouds so it has a different name, Cloud Valley. Lung Yun is rated "The Roof Muong Bi," one of the four major and cultural cradle of the most ancient peoples in Muong Hoa Binh province, Muong Bi, Muong Vang, Muong Thang and Muong Dong.
According to the "earth and water" Epic of the Muong people in Hoa Binh, Van Lung was once a peaceful village after it was completely destroyed by a devastating flood and no one survived the flood of foreign except for a few who were saved by being stuck in a giant tree, called Bi. The tree has deep roots in the ninth and tenth mountain river, it has not been washed away. No place to live, the couple built a tent under a tree to live and claim new land for agriculture, domestication of wild animals for breeding, as containers for water, and then established a village and named it after the tree to show their gratitude to the tree that saved their lives. Today Muong Bi is a largely mountainous region of multiple communes in Tan Lac and Van Lung is the highest position that Muong ethnic people and is believed to be where the big tree Bi.
Lung Yun now still unfamiliar to many people because it is surrounded by mountains and deep blue far the main road. It retains many cultural and traditional architecture intact, such as turtle shaped roof and Muong women's apparel that is black and decorated with colorful patterns. Today their costumes are made shorter, fit to work, but all the subtle pattern remains unchanged.
This area involves many fairy tales and is called the land of longevity because more than 100-year-old man who are still healthy. At 90-100, they are still working to help her. It is believed that the life of the local population due to water from the streams in the area, good lifestyle and their simple and cool and pure atmosphere.
In his notes on the culture of the Muong, culturist Phan Cam Thuong emphasize the difficulties in traveling to the region and the self life of local people. The locals go shopping to entertainment and sometimes exchange their products, such as weaving, textile products, fruits and vegetables.
